Fear of YHVH
Shabbat Shalom!! We look forward to gathering with the Treasured Ones today!!
Today we will continue looking at what the rewards, requirements and promises are for those who Fear YHVH. Leviticus 19 is continuing to teach the children of Israel the commandments of Elohim so that they know how to live as redeemed people. Three times in this chapter the word revere is used. This is the concept for the Fear of YHVH. We will read those verses to broaden our concept of how YHVH is revered through our actions.
Leviticus 19:14 says, “You shall not curse a deaf man, nor place a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall revere your Elohim; I am YHVH.” [The deaf and the blind are at a disadvantage without hearing and seeing, therefore when we care for them we are showing reverence for YHVH.]
Leviticus 19:30 says, “You shall keep My sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am YHVH.” [The place set apart for worship should be treated as such and in turn we are honoring YHVH.]
Leviticus 19:32 says, “‘You shall rise up before the grayheaded and honor the aged, and you shall revere your Elohim; I am YHVH.” [When we show honor to the elderly this too, is showing reverence for YHVH.]
As we seek to Reverence YHVH, He leads us through His Word and identifies specific things that show Him honor. Caring for the disadvantaged, honoring the place of worship, and showing respect to the elderly are three more of those ways that the Fear of YHVH is demonstrated in our lives.
May we have a joyful Shabbat!!
