Wisdom

We are continuing in the “Thirty Sayings of the Wise” from the book of Proverbs.  Just a reminder that though the word wisdom may not be used, when it is from the Word it is our wisdom.

Saying number 8 is from Proverbs 23:4-5.  It says, “4  Do not weary yourself to gain wealth, cease from your consideration of it. 5 When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.”

1 Timothy 6:9-10 says, “9  But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”

Proverbs 28:20 says, A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who makes haste to be rich will not go unpunished.”

Matthew 6:19-21 says, 19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” 6 so that we confidently say, “YHVH is my helper, I will not be afraid.
What will man do to me?

By no means is it wrong when one walks in the Spirit of Wisdom to abound with blessings and prosperity in business!! But YHVH judges the motivation and intention of the heart. If our drive is because we believe that it is by our own hands we have anything, rather than our Creator, then we have usurped the teachings and desire of YHVH that says He is our helper and provider for ALL things…ALL things good are from Him!! It is also wise to understand that one of the purposes that the Father would bless us financially is so that we can share with others.  Ephesians 4:28 says paraphrasing, we work so that others may have and Luke 3:11 says, “And he would answer and say to them, “The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise.” As with everything else, it comes down to seeking the kingdom and His righteousness first, then all of these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33).

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
