In Luke 8, Yeshua, along with the twelve disciples, were going around from one city to another proclaiming and preaching the kingdom of Elohim.  Following the parable about the sower and the seed and connecting it to the Word of Elohim, He shared the following words in  Luke 8:16-21; “16 “Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light. 17 For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. 18 So take care how you listen; [We are to always take care how we listen, but the words He’s about to speak we are to pay even closer attention to.] for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.” 19  And His mother and brothers came to Him, and they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd. 20 And it was reported to Him, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, wishing to see You.” 21 But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of Elohim and do it. [Yeshua is saying that our family are those who heed by doing the Counsel the Word gives us.]” Since these verses follow the principle of the seed teaching of Yeshua, then one is to understand in context that “whoever has, more shall be given” is an agricultural term.  When you plant one seed you don’t just receive one piece of produce from it, you get far more than what you planted.  But if one does not plant and produce with his seed, he will not reap a harvest and even what he does have in life will come to nothing. We are to be fruitful in the kingdom with what we’ve been given.  This is the counsel that Yeshua is giving and it is for our good to take heed to it.
