Jeremiah 16:19-21 says, “19 O YHVH, my strength [Power] and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of distress, to You the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, “Our fathers have inherited nothing but falsehood [lies], futility and things of no profit.” 20 Can man make gods for himself? Yet they are not gods! 21 “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—This time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is YHVH.”

This was profound to us and was the beginning key to our understanding.  Why did we believe what we believed?  Because we inherited lies from our forefathers, who inherited lies from their forefathers and so it goes back to the origins of when believers began to walk away from the teachings and instructions of YHVH (the commandments) and replaced them with lies, futility and things of no profit that Jeremiah spoke about.  It’s an age OLD problem with mankind to replace the truth with creating our own ways. It goes back to the garden. Some of the lies we inherited, which has stripped us of experiencing the power of Elohim to the measure He would desire for us, is the day of worship.  It was moved back in the days of Constantine around 325 AD from Saturday, the seventh day, to Sunday, the first day; holidays have replaced HOLY days, eating animals not designed for food but that were designed to clean the earth and oceans, replaced eating only that which was designed for food in Leviticus 11; the list could go on and on.  This is just to name a few.

Let’s continue with what happens if we do not repent and return to the ways of Scripture and continue to walk in the inherited lies.

Isaiah 44:18-20 says, “18 They do not know, nor do they understand, for He [YHVH] has smeared over their eyes so that they cannot see and their hearts so that they cannot comprehend. 19 No one recalls, nor is there knowledge or understanding to say, “I have burned half of it in the fire and also have baked bread over its coals. I roast meat and eat it. Then I make the rest of it into an abomination, I fall down before a block of wood!” [So blinded they can’t even remember what they’ve done that is abominable to YHVH. In our day it would sound like this, “What have I done that is so wrong?”  When we stop reading and hearing the Word of Elohim we have no conscience or compass to measure our behavior by.] 20 He [the one who rebels and doesn’t repent] feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has turned him aside. And he cannot deliver himself, nor say, “Is there not a lie in my right hand?” We do not have to be this person.  As we ask, seek and knock for the truth of Yah’s Word, rather than lies, He is faithful to reveal it!!  Isaiah 44 goes onto to encourage Israel.  Lest we think that this is just for an ethnic group of people, let’s be reminded who the Bible says is Israel.  Israel are those who have the testimony of Yeshua and keep the commandments of YHVH. (Revelation 14:12 among many other verses)  Everyone who receives Yeshua as Messiah and His way of life are grafted into Israel; therefore the following verses belong to them.

 Isaiah 44:21-23 says, “21 Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel, for you are My servant [#1…not the world’s]; I have formed you, you are My servant [#2], O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me. 22 “I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud and your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you [#1].” 23 Shout for joy, O heavens, for YHVH has done it! Shout joyfully, you lower parts of the earth; break forth into a shout of joy, you mountains, O forest, and every tree in it; for YHVH has redeemed Jacob [#2] and in Israel He shows forth His glory.”

 We have a great promise, along with a great responsibility as Israel, to walk in the truth and not continue in the lies we have inherited from our forefathers!!  We have been given the Spirit of Power and Strength to walk away from the lies and walk in the truth!! May all those who come behind US find US faithful!!
