1st June 2024: Our Daily deLIGHT~7th Day-Fear of YHVH
Fear of YHVH
Shabbat Shalom!!
Psalm 2 is considered, and rightfully so, a Messianic Psalm. When you get time I would recommend reading all twelve verses. Today we will go through verses 7-12.
7 I will surely tell of the decree of YHVH: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You [John 3:16].
8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession. [We are Yeshua’s inheritance and in turn we are joint-heirs with Messiah…Romans 8:17]
9 ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware [those who do not follow the ways of YHVH and have Yeshua as the Messiah will become inferior pottery and disposable].’”
10 Now therefore, O kings, show discernment [Understanding]; Take warning, O judges of the earth.
11 Worship YHVH with reverence [Yirah/Fear of YHVH] and rejoice [Giyl/to dance or spin as one with violent emotion, joy] with trembling [causing the earth to quake with your joyfulness].
12 Do homage [Nasaq/kiss/touch the Son…in the ancient near east a kiss was a sign of submission] to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, for His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed [Asher/Happy] are all who take refuge in Him!”
Psalm 2 is also a prophetic Psalm prophesying of the return of Yeshua. We are given clear instruction to do the following and if we do we will be happy and escape the wrath to come:
- Worship YHVH with reverence
- Rejoice with such emotion as to cause an earthquake
- Submit to the Messiah and His ways
- Take Refuge in Him
May we have a joyful Shabbat!!
