Power
We have heard many times that the last thing we hear is often the thing that we remember first and/or the most from a conversation, teaching, lecture or book that we’ve been a part of. Paul has written a beautiful letter to the congregation he founded at Ephesus. At the close of the letter he says in Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, be strong in Adonai and in the strength of His might [Power].” He goes on and tells them how to walk in that strength and power by putting on the full armor of Elohim so that they will be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Each day we’ve been given the power that we need to stand firm against the temptations of the enemy, but we must draw on this power and strength we’ve been given in order to overcome whatever we’ve been brought too.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 says, “13 Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love.” The Hebraic understanding of love is covenant loyalty. To do everything in love means that our love is demonstrated by our choices that cause us to be faithful or loyal to the teachings and instructions of the Word. It’s subtle how the enemy gets in; therefore the Word tells us to be on the alert and stand firm. Guarding our garden so to speak, means considering everything that we do before we do it so that we don’t open the door and allow the enemy to come in.
2 Timothy 2:1 says, “You therefore, my child, be strong [Receive the power] in the grace [Which is the power, desire and enablement to His will] that is in Messiah Yeshua.”
Colossians 1:11-12 says, “11 Being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have full endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light.”
Notice the promises given in these two short verses:
- Strengthened with His Power and Might
- Have full endurance and patience
- Joyfully give thanks to the Father
- You will be qualified to share in the inheritance with the saints
The desires of the flesh are strong, but YHVH’s POWER is STRONGER to the one who will yield to it and allow it to govern and strengthen them!!!
Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
