Knowledge

Happy Preparation Day!!!!  May it be filled with the presence of our King!!

Proverbs is often called the Wisdom of YHVH, and with verses like this, one could see why.  Proverbs 14:6-7.  It says, “6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge is easy to one who has understanding. 7 Leave the presence of a fool, or you will not discern words of knowledge.”

The word scoffer in this verse is the Hebrew word Liyliyt and it means a night spectre: screech owl.  It is from the Hebrew Root word Lilah which means night, midnight, away from the light. The concept of the owl is that it’s nocturnal or a night dweller.  So the scoffer is someone who dwells and operates in darkness. A person who walks in darkness seeks but does not find because truth is found IN the light and truth IS the light.  These verses go on to say that knowledge is easy for one who has understanding. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence, but a Yah-incidence that in Isaiah 11:1-3 that understanding is listed several Spirits before knowledge.  In fact, understanding is chiastic to knowledge on the menorah…it’s the same branch, but opposite sides. It would make sense that we would need understanding before knowledge because without understanding in its rightful place, one would puff up with pride and be careless with knowledge alone.

In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul is warning the congregation of the judgment to come, along with the resurrection, at the last trump.  One of the keys he gives in order for them to be ready, is mentioned in verse 33.  It says, “33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Paul is reemphasizing an earlier comment he had written in this letter to the Corinthians identifying what is bad company.  He said in chapter 6:9-11; “9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of ElohimDo not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of Elohim. 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Master Yeshua Messiah and in the Spirit of our Elohim.”

Psalm 119:63 is a great verse to embrace and walk in. “I am a companion of all those who fear You [One of the Seven Spirits of YHVH]and of those who keep Your precepts.”

May we BE a companion of those who fear YHVH and keep His precepts and run with those who do!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled preparation day!!!
