Power

“Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise…” (Joshua 1:2).  These were the words spoken to Joshua when it was time to possess the land. What is spoken beforehand is for our instruction as well.  With the strength and power of YHVH we can possess the land!!  Joshua’s practice of yielding to the Power of YHVH for forty years in the wilderness prepared him for this day.  As we continue reading below in Joshua 1 we will discover that YHVH always instructs and empowers His servants to accomplish what He has called them to do.

Joshua 1:5-9 says; 5 “No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with youI will not fail you or forsake you. 6 “Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 “Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success [wisely understand] wherever you go. 8 “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and nightso that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in itfor then you will make your way prosperousand then you will have success [wisely understand]. 9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for YHVH your Elohim is with you wherever you go.”

Three times in these five verses we are told to be strong and courageous, so obviously we’re going to have the opportunity to doubt and fear.  However, with these instructions come promises IF we do it the way He said to do it.  The word prosperous in verse eight is deeper than we might understand it to be.  While it can and does mean prosperous in the common way, however, the first few definitions in the Hebrew is to push forward, break out, come mightily.  The word success in Hebrew means to wisely understand. Of course, when we have wisdom and understanding it will lead to success, but it will be as it is defined by YHVH, not the world’s standards.  So through Yah’s Spirit of Power, we will be pushed forwardbreak out and wisely understand in order to fulfill His kingdom purposes.

Arise Shine for your light has come, and the glory of YHVH has risen upon you!!”  (Isaiah 60:1)

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
