30th November 2023: Our Daily deLIGHT~5th Day-Power
Power
Each day that we awake we are given the opportunity to make a difference for the kingdom. If we are wise we will look to our Creator, YHVH and His Son Yeshua for their guidance for every area of our life. Our very ability to have the power to live and move and have our being is in them. Yet, we have been given, by them, the responsibility to work in concert with them, to fulfill that which we’ve been given to do. The Spirit of YHVH enables but we are to execute!! Today we will look at a few of those areas we’ve been given to carry out.
Isaiah 52:1-2 says, “1 Awake, awake, clothe yourself in your strength [Power], O Zion; clothe yourself in your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for the uncircumcised and the unclean will no longer come into you. 2 Shake yourself from the dust, rise up, O captive Jerusalem; loose yourself from the chains around your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.” [The Scriptures define what “beautiful/fine” garments are. We will see it in some of the verses below.]
2 Chronicles 6:41 says at the end of Solomon’s dedication prayer, “Now therefore arise, O YHVH Elohim, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your might; let Your priests, O YHVH Elohim, be clothed with salvation and let Your godly ones rejoice in what is good.”
1 Peter 5:5 says, “You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for Elohim is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Psalm 132:9 says, “Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Your godly ones sing for joy.
Job 29:14 says, “I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban.
We would be remiss if we didn’t bring up Revelation 19:7-8 once again, which says, “7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” 8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Zephaniah 1:8 says, “And it shall come to pass in the day of YHVH’s sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all who clothe themselves with strange apparel.”
From the verses above we see that the responsibility and power to clothe ourselves and to be clothed, all comes from our Creators above. We will list out what the Scriptures have laid out.
1. Clothe ourselves in strength [power]
2. Clothe ourselves in beautiful garments [The righteous acts/obedience of the saints are these garments]
3. Shake ourselves from the dust [this is an idiom meaning uselessness and dead carnal works]
4. We are to rise up
5. Loose ourselves from the chains around our neck [Remove that which is weighing us down and leading us in the wrong direction]
6. Be Clothed with salvation
7. Clothe yourselves with humility
8. Be Clothed with righteousness and justice
9. Do not be Clothed in strange apparel
Spiritually speaking, what are we wearing? Are we modestly dressed according to the verses above? If we get this part right, the physical modesty will fall in behind it. Any ability we have to clothe ourselves comes from the Spirit of Power given to all those who will believe. Once we realize what is required of us to execute, we can have the faith that He’s enabled us.
Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
