29th October 2024: Our Daily deLIGHT~3rd Day-Counsel
Counsel
There are many verses written within the pages of the Bible that speak to the consequences of not heeding the Spirit of Counsel. Every word is there for our instruction, doctrine and reproof; all for the purpose of drawing us and keeping us inside the house of YHVH our Creator where our safety resides. Consequences should serve to lead us to repent and return to that which is pleasing to our Father. It’s not because He doesn’t love us, but because He does. He does everything possible to help us be positioned for His blessings, but we must receive it in order to benefit from it. If we will receive the counsel of the verses below, we will learn what NOT to do in order to remain in right standing with our Elohim.
Psalm 107:10-16 says, “ 10 There were those who dwelt in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in misery and chains, 11 Because they had rebelled against the words of Elohim and spurned the counsel of the Most High.[Two ways of saying the same thing.] 12 Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; they stumbled and there was none to help. 13 Then they cried out to YHVH in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. 14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their bands apart. [Set them free.] 15 Let them give thanks to YHVH for His lovingkindness, and for His wonders to the sons of men! 16. For He has shattered gates of bronze and cut bars of iron asunder.”
Numbers 15:29-31 says, “29 You shall have one law for him who does anything unintentionally, for him who is native among the sons of Israel and for the alien who sojourns among them. [There is one law for all.] 30 But the person who does anything defiantly, whether he is native or an alien, that one is blaspheming YHVH; and that person shall be cut off from among his people. 31 Because he has despised the word of YHVH [Despised His counsel.] and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.’”
Proverbs 1:23-25 is what we don’t want to be said of us; “23 Turn to my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. 24 “Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention; 25 And you neglected all my counsel And did not want my reproof;”
Isaiah 5:24 says, “Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes stubble and dry grass collapses into the flame, so their root will become like rot and their blossom blow away as dust; for they have rejected the law of YHVH of hosts and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. [Despised His counsel.]”
May we never be found spurning, despising or rejecting the Spirit of Counsel that comes from the words of Scripture; for through them we will be placed in the protection of our great King!!
Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
