Jeremiah 23:16-24 says,

 16 Thus says YHVH of hosts, “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility; they speak a vision of their own imagination, not from the mouth of YHVH. [The mouth of YHVH are the words within the pages of our Bible…anything that goes against “It is written” is not the Holy Spirit speaking.]

17 “They keep saying to those who despise Me, ‘YHVH has said, “You will have peace”’; and as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, they say, ‘Calamity will not come upon you.’ [Notice who is giving them an ear to hear; those who despise Him and walk in the stubbornness of their own heart.]

18 “But who has stood in the council of YHVH, that he should see and hear His word? Who has given heed to His word and listened? [Who has taken the counsel to obey?]

19 “Behold, the storm of YHVH has gone forth in wrath, even a whirling tempest; it will swirl down on the head of the wicked.

20 “The anger of YHVH will not turn back until He has performed and carried out the purposes of His heart; in the last days you will clearly understand it. [May we clearly understand now so that we do not walk in the futility of our own stubbornness and thereby become the recipient of Yah’s anger.]

21 “I did not send these prophets, but they ran. I did not speak to them, but they prophesied.

22 “But if they had stood in My council, then they would have announced My words to My people, and would have turned them back from their evil way and from the evil of their deeds.

23 “Am I an Elohim who is near,” declares YHVH, “And not a Elohim far off?

24 “Can a man hide himself in hiding places so I do not see him?” declares YHVH. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares YHVH.

The pattern in Scripture is that YHVH always warns and informs His people what He is doing. This is why it is so important that we read His Word everyday; this is how we understand what was and is and is to come.

In Genesis 49:1-2 it says, “​1 Then Jacob summoned his sons and said, “Assemble yourselves that I may tell you what will befall you in the days to come. 2 “Gather together and hear, O sons of Jacob; and listen to Israel your father.” [This is an earthly and prophetic portent of YHVH speaking to His children.]

Jeremiah 9:12-16 says, “12 Who is the wise man that may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of YHVH has spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land ruined, laid waste like a desert, so that no one passes through? 13 YHVH said, “Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice nor walked according to it, 14 but have walked after the stubbornness of their heart and after the Baals, as their fathers taught them,” 15 therefore thus says YHVH of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, “behold, I will feed them, this people, with wormwood and give them poisoned water to drink. 16 I will scatter them among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them until I have annihilated them.”

We see in Scripture many times that YHVH gathers His people to instruct them and give them understanding concerning His ways…both the blessings and the curses.  It is His desire for us to be in the blessings of His house.  When we refuse to harness our own thoughts and desires, and follow the voices of the false prophets who lead us away from the Word YHVH spoken from His own mouth, then it is our choices that actually cause us to be scattered rather than gathered.  To be gathered in and connected is the blessing of obedience!!!  To be scattered and cut off is part of the judgment for disobedience.  May we clearly hear the voice of the Spirit of Understanding so that we have our ears turned to the truth and walk in it.
