Understanding

As we mentioned the first week on the second day, the Hebrew word for Understanding in Isaiah 11:2 is Binah, Strong’s number 998.  By way of review, its meaning is to distinguishattendconsiderdiligentlylook well to…just to name a few. It’s from the root word Biyn, Strong’s number 995.  Its meaning is to separate mentallyunderstanddiscern…plus much more than this.

The first use of this exact form of the Hebrew word Binah used in Isaiah 11:2 is found in Deuteronomy 4:5-9.  This is the last “sermon” that Moses gave to the Children of Israel just before they were to cross into the Promised Land.  As we often repeat from Isaiah 46:10, “We will know the end FROM the beginning.”  So if this is among the last words that the children of Israel would hear before entering the Promised Land, is it any different for us today?  No, His patterns never change just as His Word never changes.  This is why it is vital that we understand what the Father did because it is what He is doing and will yet do in the future.  He was and is and is to come!!

Here are the verses for the first use of Binah, the Hebrew word for Understanding: “5. See, I have taught you statutes and judgments just as YHVH my Elohim commanded me, that you should do thus in the land where you are entering to possess it. 6. “So keep and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ 7. “For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as is YHVH our Elohim whenever we call on Him? 8. “Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as righteous as this whole law which I am setting before you today?  . 9“Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons.”

It is a Great Nation that walks in the responsibility and relationship that has been granted to them by the one and only true Elohim.  As believers in Yeshua the Messiah and His way of life [the Torah] we are to accurately demonstrate the truths of the Word to the people around us by keeping and doing the commandments for THIS is where true wisdom and understanding will be seen and where heaven meets earth.

Next week we will dive further into this and reveal a very interesting connection that will encourage us to continue in the faith that brings favor beyond our expectation.

Shalom & Blessings,
