Fear of YHVH
Shabbat Shalom!! We look forward to worshipping with the Treasured Ones today!!
Today we will continue looking at what the rewards, requirements and promises are for those who Fear YHVH.
In Psalm 102 verses 12-17 says, “12 But You, O YHVH, abide forever, and Your name to all generations. 13 You will arise and have compassion on Zion; for it is time to be gracious to her, for the appointed time has come. 14 Surely Your servants find pleasure in her stones and feel pity for her dust. 15 So the nations will fear the name of YHVH and all the kings of the earth Your glory. 16 For YHVH has built up Zion; He has appeared in His glory. 17 He has regarded the prayer of the destitute and has not despised their prayer.”
There is a beautiful tradition that Psalm 67 is read continuously throughout the counting of the Omer until we reach Shavuot/Pentecost/the Feast of Weeks. In this chapter there are forty-nine Hebrew words and seven verses which corresponds to the commandment to count forty-nine days as well as the seven weeks. From Passover to Pentecost there is a harvest theme from the barley to the wheat. This chapter is full of the harvest theme.
Psalm 67:1-7 says,
1 Elohim be gracious to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us— Selah.
2 That Your way may be known on the earth, Your salvation [Yeshua] among all nations.
3 Let the peoples praise You, O Elohim; let all the peoples praise You.
4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for You will judge the peoples with uprightness and guide the nations on the earth. Selah.
5 Let the peoples praise You, O Elohim; let all the peoples praise You.
6 The earth has yielded its produce; Elohim, our Elohim, blesses us.
7 Elohim blesses us [Israel], that all the ends of the earth may fear Him.”
Psalm 102:12-17 has quite the list concerning our Elohim:
- He abides forever
- His name abides to all generations
- He will arise and have compassion on Zion
- He will be gracious to her for her time has come
- His servants find pleasure in her stones and feel pity for her dust
- His name will be feared/reverenced among the nations and kings of the earth
- He has built up Zion
- He has appeared in His glory
- He has regarded the prayer of the destitute and has not despised it
May we have a joyful Shabbat!!
