Spirit of YHVH
The Spirit, the Word, Yeshua and Believers are often called Light in the Scriptures. In Matthew 5:14 Yeshua says to His disciples, “you are the light of the world.” We cannot have light without a vessel to house it and fuel to light it. We are the vessel or the lamp that the Spirit desires to dwell in. The Spirit of YHVH is the fuel that lights our lamp. But in order for this to be a reality we must be a clean vessel, obedient to the Word of Elohim.
As ever-increasing darkness is coming upon our world, it is imperative that we keep the light burning in our hearts. Yeshua said in Luke 11:33-36, “33 No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. 34 “The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 “Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness. 36 “If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its rays.”
The pattern for the Seven Spirits of YHVH being represented by the menorah can be seen in Revelation 4:4-5; “4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads. 5 Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of YHVH;” The wording here is intentional to draw us back to Sinai when YHVH came to the mix multitude in Exodus 19:16-18. He, the Spirit, descended on the mountain and gave us the gift of Torah…the gift of light after a long season of bondage and darkness. The Spirit still desires to come and fill us with His light so that there will not be any bondage or darkness in our hearts; when we yield, we can then be a light to a lost and dying world.
Returning to the words of Yeshua above, He is not giving us a suggestion in Luke 11:33-36 when He tells us to “watch out that the light in you is not darkness.” It is a commandment. We will be a living menorah, wholly illumined with the Spirit of YHVH and placed on a lampstand when we read and apply His Word to our everyday life.
Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
