25th May 2024: Our Daily deLIGHT~7th Day-Fear of YHVH
Fear of YHVH
Shabbat Shalom!!
Yesterday we shared from Colossians 3; in verse 8 it speaks of the deeds of the flesh. It says, “But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. Abusive speech or a perverted mouth was not a person considered to have true knowledge.
Today we will look at Proverbs 8:13-14. “13. The fear of YHVH is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverted mouth, I hate. 14. “Counsel is mine and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power is mine.” What a power packed two verses this is. Wisdom, which is from Elohim, is speaking here. This is another pattern of how wisdom, the first branch on the menorah and fear of YHVH, the seventh branch on the menorah are chiastically connected.
The Scriptures teach that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45), so the mouth reveals a lot about us. As our hearts are lit with the Seven Spirits of YHVH and the changes we need come about, our mouths will surely reflect that.
Let’s list below what wisdom tells us is a proper fear or reverence for YHVH.
- Hate evil
- Not having pride
- Not having arrogance
- Not having a perverted mouth
When we hate what YHVH hates and love what YHVH loves then we will then walk in the true Fear or Reverence of YHVH.
May we have a joyful Shabbat!!
