25th January 2023: Our Daily deLIGHT~5th Day-Power
Power
Do you feel weary, tired or worn? We can all feel that way from time to time for various reasons. However, our Creator is never without strength and power and He restores it to His people that rely on Him for it. There is a key we will discover through the verses below that sets us up to receive the Spirit of Power that He has ready for us. May we keep in our hearts and mind these four R’s when we need strength to carry on: Restores, Rely, Receive and Ready.
Psalm 68:28-35 says,
28 Your Elohim has commanded your strength; show Yourself strong, O Elohim, who have acted on our behalf.
29 Because of Your temple at Jerusalem kings will bring gifts to You.
30 Rebuke the beasts in the reeds, the herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples, trampling under foot the pieces of silver; He has scattered the peoples who delight in war.
31 Envoys will come out of Egypt; Ethiopia will quickly stretch out her hands to Elohim.
32 Sing to Elohim, O kingdoms of the earth, Sing praises to YHVH, Selah.
33 To Him who rides upon the highest heavens, which are from ancient times; behold, He speaks forth with His voice, a mighty voice.
34 Ascribe strength to Elohim; His majesty is over Israel and His strength is in the skies.
35 O Elohim, You are awesome from Your sanctuary. The Elohim of Israel Himself gives strength and power to the people. Blessed be Elohim!
Isaiah 40:29-31 says,
29 He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.
30 Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly,
31 Yet those who wait for YHVH will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. The word wait in this verse is very interesting. You may have in the margin of your Bible hope in. Therefore, it could be translated Yet those who hope in YHVH will gain new strength. But this word in the Hebrew has a fascinating definition. It is the Strong’s number “h6960. קָוָה qâwâ; a primitive root; to bind together, collect; to expect: — gather (together), look, patiently, tarry, wait (for, on, upon).” As you move through the definitions you will see the words look, patiently, tarry, wait. But the first several words given have the concept of binding together, collect, gather together. All concepts of being attached. How do we stay attached to YHVH? By following and obeying Him His way. Here is the key we spoke about in the opening, He will strengthen the ones who remain in the vine, attached to Him and to each other!!
Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
