Proverbs 5:1-2 says,  “​​​​1 My son, give attention to my wisdom, incline your ear to my understanding; 2 That you may observe discretion and your lips may reserve knowledge.” [Speak right things.]

Proverbs 19:27 says, “Cease listening [Shema in Hebrew meaning “cease hearing with the intent to obey”], my son, to discipline, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.”

Jeremiah 3:12-17 says,

 12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north and say, ‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares YHVH; ‘I will not look upon you in anger. For I am gracious,’ declares YHVH; ‘I will not be angry forever.

13 ‘Only  acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against YHVH your Elohim and have scattered your favors to the strangers under every green tree [Pagan rituals involving sexual immorality were often conducted under oak trees], and you have not obeyed My voice,’ declares YHVH.
14 ‘Return, O faithless sons,’ declares YHVH; ‘For I am a master to you, and I will take you one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.’ [HalleluYah!!]
15 “Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.

16 It shall be in those days when you are multiplied and increased in the land,” declares YHVH, “they will no longer say, ‘The ark of the covenant of YHVH.’ And it will not come to mind, nor will they remember it, nor will they miss it, nor will it be made again.

17 At that time they will call Jerusalem ‘The Throne of YHVH,’ and all the nations will be gathered to it, to Jerusalem, for the name of YHVH; nor will they walk anymore after the stubbornness of their evil heart.

Jeremiah gives us what we need to know to be gathered back to YHVH and His land:

1. Return [This is Shuv in the Hebrew.  It means to repent and turn away from our sin and turn to the ways of YHVH.]
2. Acknowledge iniquity [lawlessness]
3. Acknowledge transgression against YHVH
4. Acknowledge scattered favors to strangers under every green tree [This refers to participating in pagan worship]
5. Acknowledge disobedience to YHVH

If we do the instructions above we have the promises that:

1. YHVH will be a Master to us
2. We will be brought back to the land
3. We will have shepherds after His heart who will feed us knowledge and understanding
4. We will be multiplied and increased
5. All the nations will be gathered to Jerusalem FOR the name of YHVH
6. We will NOT walk in the stubbornness of our evil heart anymore

Our Father gives us the knowledge we need in His Word to be in right standing with Him because He desires us to be in His presence.  Sin separates us from Him and each other.  May we deeply consider our ways so that we can do a course correction and have the peace and knowledge that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. (1 John 1:9)
