When we ponder the purpose of a pillar it brings an understanding to the verses above that helps us string together the pearls of His Word. What does a pillar do and represent? A pillar supports and stabilizes a load. We see that wisdom cuts out her seven pillars. By now you’re probably seeing the patterns everywhere when you see a seven connected to a concept.  We can tie verse one to the Seven Spirits of YHVH; we can also link it to the Seven Feasts of YHVH.  When we keep the feasts and allow the Seven Spirits of YHVH to govern our lives it brings stability and support to us.  We will not stand without it.

Proverbs 14:1 says, “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands.” While this can and should be taken domestically as the wife/woman; however, it’s broader than that.  Israel [the one who has the testimony of Yeshua and keeps the commandments of YHVH] is the bride of Yeshua.  Therefore, if we as Israel, the bride, are wise we will build up the house of YHVH and not tear it down.  In order for us to build it according to the pattern then we will need the “seven pillars” [His Spirits and Feasts] to support the load.  When we begin to understand that we are to eat of His food and drink of His wine we will then be nourished to fulfill the call He has given us to build up His kingdom.  The language in verse five is festival language as each festival, with the exception of Yom Kippur, always has food and wine attached to it. Food and Wine is symbolic of covenant and rejoicing.

We recently came through the book of Esther and in chapter 2:8-9 we read; “8 So it came about when the command and decree of the king were heard and many young ladies were gathered to the citadel of Susa into the custody of Hegai, that Esther was taken to the king’s palace into the custody of Hegai, who was in charge of the women. 9 Now the young lady pleased him and found favor with him. So he quickly provided her with her cosmetics and food, gave her seven choice maids from the king’s palace and transferred her and her maids to the best place in the harem.”

The root word for the name Hegai is the Hebrew word Chag.  This is the word for feast.  Hegai just “happened” to give her seven choice maids from the king’s palace.  When we think of most palaces we can visualize the fact that they most likely have pillars. This language of seven again, speaks to the Biblical patterns shown throughout all of the Scriptures. So when we understand that the Father has given to His people seven choice maids [the Seven Spirits of YHVH and His Feasts, to which the Shabbat is included] to build up His house, we will then find favor with our King and be in the best place of the palace.
