Wisdom
The earth is YHVH’s and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it. Psalm 24:1. Wisdom understands who is the creator and maker of all that exists. Therefore, it is to Him that we submit and serve as His creations. These elementary and yet vital truths need to be established in our hearts and passed onto our children. When we walk in this wisdom there is no room for any pride to remain that anything we know, have or possess is because of our own doing. Today we will look at a few verses that establishes this fact and may we pass them on to the next generation and not assume they automatically have this wisdom.
Psalm 104:24 says, “O YHVH, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your possessions.” [When we seek and allow the Spirit of Wisdom to reign in our hearts, we are returning to the original design of the Father.]
We’re hearing a lot about the prophets these days. Today we will read a few passages from the prophet Jeremiah establishing the concepts we’re looking at. The following is written to the house of Israel. Jeremiah 10:12-16 says, “12 It is He who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His wisdom; and by His understanding He has stretched out the heavens. 13 When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain, and brings out the wind from His storehouses. 14 Every man is stupid, devoid of knowledge; every goldsmith is put to shame by his idols; for his molten images are deceitful, and there is no breath in them. 15 They are worthless, a work of mockery; in the time of their punishment they will perish. 16 The portion of Jacob is not like these; for the Maker of all is He, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance; YHVH of hosts is His name.” [When we receive Yeshua as Messiah and keep the commandments of YHVH we are Israel; and Israel has a great responsibility, as well as inheritance, therefore, we are not to live and behave like the nations, but as the Word says, we are to be a light to the nations. We are in the world, but we are not to be of the world.]
In Jeremiah 51 it is written concerning Babylon and it’s judgment for their sin against Israel. We will see where Jeremiah is repeating what he spoke in chapter 10. This is noteworthy as it validates the importance that Israel remembers and returns to this truth as they had wandered far away from it in their lives. We will read selected verses from Jeremiah 51:6, 10, 15 & 19 which says, “6 Flee from the midst of Babylon, and each of you save his life! Do not be destroyed in her punishment, for this is YHVH’s time of vengeance; [What was then will be again. He never changes, nor does His message. The form and the method may look different, but the function and the message are the same. We, too, must flee from “the midst of our Babylon” so that we are not punished with her. “Come out of her my people” is a common theme for the Children of Israel. Just like the pattern with Lot in Sodom, YHVH gives us fair warning and many opportunities to flee from wickedness and from those who practice unrighteousness, so that we don’t go down with them. Babylon isn’t just a location, it is a lifestyle.] He is going to render recompense to her. 10 YHVH has brought about our vindication; come and let us recount in Zion the work of YHVH our Elohim! 15 It is He who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His wisdom, and by His understanding He stretched out the heavens. 19 The portion of Jacob [Israel] is not like these; for the Maker of all is He, and of the tribe of His inheritance; YHVH of hosts is His name.”
All of this takes us right back to the beginning verse of all of our Scriptures. Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.”
In the Spirit of Wisdom YHVH made it all and in turn desires to fill us with that wisdom. When we surrender and seek after it, we are then walking in harmony with His heart for His creation.
Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
