Psalm 76:11 says,  

Make vows to YHVH your Elohim and fulfill them; let all who are around Him bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.

Ecclesiastes 5:4-6 says,

4 When you make a vow to Elohim, do not be late in paying it; for He takes no delight in fools. Pay what you vow

5 It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay.

6 Do not let your speech cause you to sin and do not say in the presence of the messenger of Elohim that it was a mistake. Why should Elohim be angry on account of your voice and destroy the work of your hands?

Numbers 30:2 says,

If a man makes a vow to YHVH, or takes an oath to bind himself with a binding obligation, he shall not violate his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. [The story of Ananias and Sapphira come to mind here.]

Psalm 50:14 says,

Offer to Elohim a sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High;

Our word is our integrity!!  Yeshua said, when you’ve done it unto the least of them you’ve done it unto me…that goes in both directions, good or bad.  Paying our vows and keeping our word to one another is the same as keeping it with YHVH.  May the Fear of YHVH cause us to carefully consider the words of our mouths to Him and each other.
