Knowledge

Happy Preparation for the Weekly Sabbath!!!!  May it be filled with the presence of our King!!

Who can hardly hear the word knowledge in context with our Creator and the state of our world and not think of a very familiar verse from Hosea 4:6.  But before we go there let’s look at Hosea 4:1; “Listen [Shema…hear with the intent to obeyto the word of YHVH, O sons of Israel, for YHVH has a case against the inhabitants of the land, because there is no faithfulness or kindness or knowledge of Elohim in the land.” As you keep reading in chapter four, starting in verse 2, the list that it gives reveals clearly that the commandments given by YHVH are completely ignored and broken. Without repentance, YHVH cannot overlook the atrocities of His people. He loves us and will do whatever it takes to get us back into right fellowship with Him.

Please read this carefully as we often hurry through a verse that is very familiar and then miss the true meaning.  Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you [from verse 1 speaking of the Sons of Israel] from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law [Torah…teachings and instructions] of your Elohim, I also will forget your children.” We often think of lack of knowledge as not having the information. But is that really the context of this Scripture here? No, it’s really a reproof and a case against Yah’s people for neglecting the knowledge of Yah’s law that’s been given; therefore, there is a call to repent or judgment is coming.

Isaiah 5:12-13 says, “12 Their banquets are accompanied by lyre and harp, by tambourine and flute, and by wine; but they do not pay attention to the deeds of YHVHnor do they consider the work of His hands. 13 Therefore My people go into exile for their lack of knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude is parched with thirst.” This is another pattern of lack of knowledge actually being a neglect of the knowledge of the deeds of YHVH or not paying attention to them so as to do them.

This neglect of the Spirit of Knowledge of His Word brings death; for the wages or payment for sin is death and sin is transgression of the law/Torah. (1 John 3:4)  However, this is not our Father’s desire. He is not the Elohim of the dead but of the living.  His Word, when obeyed, brings LIFE and happy are they who take hold of it!!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled preparation day!!!
