Our Daily deLIGHT~ 1st Day ~ Wisdom
We are continuing in the “Thirty Sayings of the Wise” from the book of Proverbs. Just a reminder that though the word wisdom may not be used, when it is from the Word it is our wisdom.
Saying number 3 is from Proverbs 22:24-25. It says, “24 Do not associate with a man given to anger; or go with a hot-tempered man, 25 Or you will learn his ways and find a snare for yourself.” This is true of all of us. We become what and who we’re fueling our minds and time with. We often don’t see what’s happening to ourselves until we’re way down the line. But those around us can see if we’re changing and picking up ways that ultimately entrap us in behavior that is not pleasing to our heavenly Father or hinders our influence to the body of Messiah. Our actions will be weighed, but if we constantly measure ourselves and choices through the patterns of the Word, He doesn’t have to (1 Corinthians 1:31). Then blessings and rewards and fruit will be had in our lives.
Proverbs 29:22-23 says, “22 An angry man stirs up strife, and a hot-tempered man abounds in transgression. 23 A man’s pride will bring him low, but a humble spirit will obtain honor.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says, “9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of Elohim? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of Elohim. 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Adonai Yeshua Messiah and in the Spirit of our Elohim.” Through the finished work of Messiah we are able to overcome. Paul also speaks to the congregation at Ephesus to persuade husbands and wives how they ought to be with one another. When encouraging the husbands he draws on the truths of how Yeshua treats His bride and what He accomplished for her. This is good news for those who are and remain in Yeshua. Ephesians 5:25-27 says, “25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Messiah also loved the congregation and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the congregation in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy [set apart] and blameless.
We can never be reminded of this enough from 1 Corinthians 15:33-34 which says, “33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 34 Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning;…”
Guard and keep were the first commandments given to Adam in the garden. The Spirit of Wisdom that we find throughout the pages of Scripture teach us how to guard and keep our lives, and all that has been entrusted to us!!
Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
